Task 2. Reading.Unethical behaviour is everywhere in the world today. It seems that every day we hear about another company or politician doing something illegal or dishonest. Here are a few examples of some of the most common types of unethical behaviour. Insider trading is when someone buys or sells shares using secret information. Industrial espionage is when one company steals secrets from another company. Fraud is when someone lies to get money. A slush fund is money that a company has but doesn't tell people about. A sweetener is when someone does something good for you so that you will do something bad for them. A cover-up is when you hide the truth about something. For example, if a company makes a dangerous product and then tries to hide that fact, that's a cover-up. There are many other forms of unethical behaviour. Some people think that all politicians are corrupt. They believe that politicians always lie and steal. A con artist is someone who tricks people to take their money. Many people have lost a lot of money because of con artists. A whitewash is when a company or government pretends to investigate a problem, but they don't really want to find out the truth. A bribe is when someone gives a lot of money to someone else to make them do something illegal or dishonest. It is very important for society to stop this kind of behaviour. Most people are law-abiding and honest. They work hard and try to be good. But sometimes it feels like the bad people are winning. We need to work together to create a better world for everyone. One way to do this is to reward good behaviour and punish bad behaviour. Another way is for people to speak up and tell the truth. If you see someone doing something wrong, don't be afraid to say something. You could be a hero!
